West Falmouth Preschool Staff
Barbara Meloni, Director and Lead Teacher - Mrs. Meloni was born and raised in Belmont, MA, and attended Lasalle College and Bridgewater State College, achieving a degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. She is a former WFPS parent, as her teenage daughter attended the school ten years ago. Mrs. Meloni brings to West Falmouth 20 years in early education experience, working in many different types of preschool environments. Her varied teaching experiences have led Mrs. Meloni to form a very strong belief in the parent cooperative philosophy.
“For me, West Falmouth Preschool is about families coming together with the same goal in mind – to be supportive and involved in their child’s early years. WFPS stands on a good balance of work and family. The fact that we almost always have a waiting list speaks to the fact of where families are today. Ours is a unique group that comes together to make the family unit a priority. “
Sheri O’Malley, Lead Teacher - After receiving her BFA with a minor in Education at UMASS Amherst, Mrs. O’Malley relocated to Maryland, where she founded and developed a kindergarten enrichment program for the Montgomery County Schools. She also spent time teaching kindergarten in Maine, and then relocated to Falmouth, where she began her teaching career on the Cape at Teaticket Elementary School. She first served as a substitute teacher and then specialized in MCAS tutoring. She has been a part of the West Falmouth Preschool community since 2008.
What does Mrs. O’Malley like about West Falmouth Preschool? “I like the idea of the parent connection, being able to talk to parents. I also love the open, relaxed program that we have here. It is structured enough so that we have circle time and planned activities, but there is also time to just sit with the kids, talk with them, laugh with them, and enjoy them.”

Theresa is originally from Boston and previously was a second
grade teacher at Sacred Heart School in Brockton, before she
took some time away from teaching to raise her son. Theresa is
very happy to join the staff of the school where her son
Benjamin attended preschool. She loves children and the entire
community of West Falmouth Preschool.
