| Curriculum Overview |
The WFPS offers a flexible curriculum, where "exposure" is the key word. The 2 day group activities focus mainly on social interaction more than "skills". The 3 day group curriculum also includes social skills; however, we feel it is equally important to expose the children to various skills and concepts through a variety of media and materials. Our goal is to help each child prepare for Kindergarten.
The following is a SAMPLING of Daily/Weekly areas of exposure. This list may not be covered in it entirety and may be changed at any time. We encourage parental participation which helps to enrich our curriculum. If anyone has a special talent, we would welcome you to share it with us at any time.
From time to time, depending on availability, in lieu of field trips, the WFPS invites several different "guest" speaker presenters to come in and share their knowledge with the children. Speakers in the past have included The Thorton Burgess Society, The US Coast Guard, Music Instructors, and members of The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. |
